Skye is designed with privacy as a core principle. Your voice recordings and transcriptions are processed entirely on your device and never leave your computer.
Data We Collect
Voice Data: All voice recordings are processed locally on your Mac using on-device AI. Your audio never leaves your computer and is not stored after transcription.
Transcriptions: Your transcribed text is stored locally on your device in the app's history. This data is never transmitted to any server.
Custom Vocabulary & Snippets: Any custom words or snippets you add are stored locally on your device.
License Information: If you purchase a Pro license, we receive basic purchase information through our payment provider (Polar) to validate your license. This includes your email address and license key.
Data We Don't Collect
- We do not collect or transmit your voice recordings
- We do not collect or transmit your transcriptions
- We do not use analytics or tracking in the app
- We do not collect usage statistics
- We do not have access to your clipboard or other applications
Third-Party Services
Payment Processing: We use Polar to process payments for Pro licenses. Their privacy policy governs how they handle payment information.
Website: Our website may use basic hosting analytics provided by our hosting provider.
Your Rights
Since your data is stored locally on your device, you have complete control over it. You can delete your history, vocabulary, and snippets at any time through the app. Uninstalling the app removes all associated data.
